She trained as an architect at California State Polytechnic University and practiced for 10 years before turning to art. Her intentional, organic-looking woodwork "seeks to find those unspoken languages and spaces that happen between man and nature."

Rochelle is the force behind Primitive Reserve, a Los Angeles based woodworking studio turning out some very impressive and unique hand made goods on the daily.

Her body of work contains coffee scoops, to cutting boards and amazing minimalist wooden wall art. In addition to its utility, Rochelle asks some difficult questions through her woodworking.

Marc J. Spagnuolo is a podcaster, video producer, woodworking enthusiast, and author of the book Hybrid Woodworking.

Previously in the biotech industry, Marc began woodworking as a hobby and was "immediately sucked into it." He began sharing his story and his skills with the world in 2006, and founded the Wood Whisperer Guild, an online store and educational resource for woodworkers.

Based in East Los Angeles, Offerman Woodshop is a small collective of woodworkers and makers focusing on hand-crafted, traditional joinery & sustainable slab rescue.

They work with fallen trees from throughout Northern California and their urban LA environment. The collective creates beautiful functional pieces and is the center of a woodworking community.

Aleksandra Zee is an Oakland-based woodworker who draws her inspiration from travel.

Making use of her Fine Arts degree, Aleksandra builds large and small scale intricate wooden wall hangings, headboards and table tops. Her Instagram showcases her love of the ocean, the desert, and the forest for her 113k followers. She teaches two apprentices a month. 


Canadian Woodworks


Canadian Woodworks is a team of woodworkers who specialize in hand sculpted custom wooden rocking chairs, dining chairs, and stools.

Established in Rockwood, Ontario, they design & build custom furniture and offer how-to-build manuals & templates for most of the designs. Their 321k followers on Instagram love to see their process and their personality.


Ariele Alasko


A full-time sculptor and woodworker, Ariele attended Pratt institute in Brooklyn, New York, and has a BFA in sculpture.

Ariele started working with wood and building furniture for her own apartment shortly after she graduated in 2009, and it swiftly grew from a fun hobby taking place in her small living room, to a full time job. Her curious and playful designs keep us both amuse and enchanted.
